Prince Harry and Meghan Markle remain non-working members of the Royal Family after returning to the UK with their children, according to a letter issued on King Charles III's behalf on 7 September 2026.

The guidance confirms that their official status has not changed and describes their position as 'akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests.'
