The Coronation of King Charles is just four weeks away, which means his wife Camilla is also about to receive a new title.
Unveiled on Tuesday, official invitations for the occasion, designed by artist Andrew Jamieson, names "Queen Camilla and King Charles III". There is much anticipation surrounding the occasion, especially regarding Harry and Meghan.
But little is spoken about Camilla's son and daughter who will have important jobs at the big event this May. However, nothing has been said whether either them or children will receive royal titles., reports the Mirror.
Prior to joining the royal family, the Queen Consort had a family of her own, sharing son Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes with former husband Andrew. Now both are step-children to His Majesty and step-siblings to Harry and William.
Come May 6, Tom and Laura, who usually stay out of the public eye, will be by their mum's side at the big event. Both made first public appearance at their Camilla and Charles' wedding in 2005 and posed for official photos.
As well as being a full day for Charles and Camilla, it will be a busy one for both Laura and Tom, as their children will take on starring roles,
Gus, Louis and Freddy will Camilla's Pages of Honour, along with her great-nephew, Arthur Elliot. Laura and Tom attended William's wedding to Kate, Princess of Wales, with Laura's daughter acting as a bridesmaid, and both siblings were also there to watch Harry marry Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
It has been a traumatic few years for her eldest child, whose girlfriend tragically died of cancer at the age of 42 after her diagnosis was reportedly delayed by lockdown. Journalist Alice Procope died at home on March 17 2021 as they planned their future after two years together.
Tom, who is also Charles' godson, is primarily known for being a successful food writer and has a number of cookbooks. He's also worked as the Mail on Sunday's food critic.
Over the years he has also been a judge on TV cookery shows Laura was educated at a Catholic girls boarding school in Dorset, and then studied History of Art and Marketing at Oxford Brookes University.
She leads a private life, but used to be more of a mover and shaker. Before settling down, Laura worked as Tatler’s motoring correspondent.
She then moved into the art world, first managing The Space Gallery in London, and then co-founding London's Eleven Gallery in 2005, where she was also director.
Laura married chartered accountant Harry Lopes in Wiltshire in 2006. He went to Eton College and spent some time underwear modelling for Calvin Klein. Harry is the son of a baron and is in line to inherit Gnaton Hall in Devon, as well as the Skelpick estate in the Scottish Highlands.
While Camilla has been given her official title through marriage, there's nothing to suggest her children and grandchildren will be offered royal titles or duties.
“Even though their mother Camilla is now the Queen Consort, Tom and Laura are still not going to have a formal role within the Crown as they are not of the blood," Thomas Mace-Archer-Mills, founder of the British Monarchists Society, told iNews.
