King Charles 'cut to the bone' by 'fractured relationship' with Prince Harry

King Charles will have been "cut to the bone" by his fragile relationship with Harry, according to Angela Rippon.

The Come Dancing star, 78, made the claim ahead of the Coronation, which Harry, 38, is attending minus Meghan, 41.

Suggesting the Duke of Sussex had "gone off the rails", the GB News presenter said: "The things he's [Harry's] said publicly about his brother, about his sister in law, about Camilla, about the King himself...All of those things he said were terrible influences - Charles must be cut to the bone by that."

Angela continued: "And yet at the same time he's his son and he loves him."

The broadcaster's soundbite came amid 7NEWS Spotlight's explosive interview with Meghan's dad, Thomas Markle.

In the startling conversation, the Suits star's sister Samantha says: "She would still be a waitress if it wasn’t for dad," she fumes.

Discussing Meghan and Harry's relationship, she snapped: "They’re unhealthy for each other. This is a toxic relationship."

Half-brother Thomas Jr also said the family "won't be going away" and urged Meghan to sit down with them to "change everything".

Prince Harry is reportedly planning to return to the US just two hours after his father's Coronation ends next week so that he can celebrate his son Archie's birthday with his family.

The Duke of Sussex is travelling to the UK on his own after it was confirmed his wife wouldn't be flying across the pond.

An insider claimed Harry will be "in and out of the UK in 24 hours" and will leave after the Coronation service at Westminster Abbey.

The ceremony is expected to end at 1pm, which means the father-of-two Duke could be leaving the UK at around 2pm or 3pm.

Harry has kept tight-lipped about his travel plans, but a source believes he might return to California by private jet, The Sun reports.

Earlier this month, a royal source told The Mirror : "After much back and forth, Harry said that he would be returning for the King's Coronation but it will only be a fleeting visit.

"Organisers have been told Harry won't be attending the concert with the rest of the Royal Family, which is a great shame as it will be such a spectacular event."

After Harry confirmed he would attend the Coronation on May 6, an insider said King Charles was "delighted".

However, they also said: "Archie's birthday has provided the perfect excuse for Meghan to stay behind and, with all things considered, it's probably the right thing to do."
