Buckingham Palace has issued a rare response after Princess Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, alleged that the then-Prince Charles told him, 'we'll forget her soon enough' days after Diana's death in 1997.

The claim appears in Spencer's forthcoming memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, which is due to be published on 22 September. Buckingham Palace has not confirmed the alleged conversation and instead questioned whether grief could have affected Spencer's recollection.
