Hit musical The King and I was brought to a halt at Manchester's Palace Theatre on Thurday night, when staff attended to what is described as "a first aid incident".
Cast members were ushered off stage while an announcement was made to the audience that the show would be briefly halted.
A member of the audience told the MEN that the show's star Darren Lee, who is playing the King of Siam in the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, was on stage at the time. Staff ushered the cast off stage while first aiders assisted an audience member who had taken ill.

The onlooker said: "The lead was escorted off stage, the house lights went up and apologies announced for the interruption."
Theatre bosses say the show was halted for three minutes before it was able to resume. It then continued on to play to a standing ovation to the packed audience in the city centre theatre on Thursday night.
A spokeswoman for Ambassador Theatre Group said: "There was a first aid incident within the venue. The show was stopped for 3 minutes so staff could sort, and it then continued."
The Tony Award-winning musical tells the story of British schoolteacher Anna who is sent to teach the King of Siam's wives and children in the 1860s. It is known for its classic show tunes including Shall We Dance, Getting To Know You and Whistle A Happy Tune.
It has been playing to rave reviews in Manchester over the past week, with the MEN review hailing it "a feast for both the eyes and the soul. It's beautiful, moving and funny - fit, indeed, for a King."
The production continues to play at the Palace Theatre until Saturday, May 13, before continuing on a UK tour.
