A boy has donated all the pennies he'd been saving to support Ukrainian civilians suffering under siege.
Warren Barton, eight, from Almondbury in Huddersfield, had been saving his one and two pence pieces for a while, but decided it would be better used by Ukrainian families suffering at the hands of Vladimir Putin's troops.
Wanting his money to go to good use, he visited a Co-Op in Northgate, where people can donate pennies into a community piggy bank for the country.
Customers can donate as much or little as they choose, and get a sunflower badge when they do so. When worn, the badges showcase support for war-torn Ukraine.
All badges are handmade by staff at the Huddersfield supermarket.
On Wednesday a Co-Op worker shared a post on Facebook which said: "We'll have a few more Sunflowers for Ukraine in at the Co-op tonight from 6pm.
"We have 100 Sunflower pin badges for sale at £1 each, with all proceeds to the Ukraine DEC Fund. Handmade and limited quantity. Thanks to all for supporting."
Warren was one of a few customers went down and in a sweet video he is seen smiling as he gives his pocket money away.
Warren's mum Tanya Barton said: "So proud of our son right now!
"He's spent ages counting out and donating all his savings (£7.38) and put it all into tub for the Ukrainian charity box at the Almondbury Co Op!
"Clare was there also which made it even more emotional as she is one of the awesome ladies who's been making the flowers for this charity.
"Well done Warren we are all so proud of you. "Its amazing how whole communities are coming together to support in any way they can its the least we can do.
"He is so proud of himself as am I!"
Warren added: "I want to help the children that don't have anything right now and I have loads!!"
His dad Peter Bray said: "So proud of you son such an amazing and thoughtful thing to do so so proud son well done."
A number of people on social media praised Warren. Sarah Holt said he gesture was "fantastic", while Katy Dyson added, "aww bless him that's so lovely".
