Kim Kardashian has thrown her support behind ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson amid rumours the comedian is undergoing 'trauma therapy' following their recent split.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians icon, 41, is reported to have ended her 9-month romance with the former Saturday Night Live star, 28, after she discovered their age gap was a problem as the honeymoon phase of their relationship began to dwindle.
While mum-of-four Kim appears to be dealing with the break-up well - as she continues to post high-spirited content on social media - Pete is believed to be taking the split badly.
The Staten Island native has now reportedly decided to seek help after Kim's ex-husband, Kanye West, made numerous explosive social media posts about him throughout the 9-month duration of his relationship with Kim.
Back in April, Kanye, 45, even went as far as creating a disturbing music video in which he appeared to bury Pete alive.
The latest outburst from Kanye saw him claim Pete was 'dead' in a fake newspaper page which he shared on Instagram following his split from Kim.
The since-deleted post said: "Skete Davidson Dead at Age 28."
Below the headline, another part of the fake mock-up claimed: "Kid Cudi meant to play funeral but fearful of bottle throwers."
Pete is now said to have found the 'attention and negativity' from Kanye a 'trigger; and has been receiving therapy since April.
"The attention and negativity coming from Kanye and his antics is a trigger for Pete, and he's had to seek out help," a source close to the Saturday Night Live star told People.
They added Pete "has been in trauma therapy in large part due to Kanye."
Despite their recent split, Kim is 'very supportive' of Pete receiving the help he needs following Kanye's troubling antics.
"Kim was very supportive of Pete going to therapy,” a source told Page Six.
“Kanye was very detrimental. He was posting negative things - now add thousands and thousands of comments. Someone has to work with you to deal with something like that.
“Getting death threats from Kanye’s fans and all the negative attention online doesn’t feel good for the average person - add someone who’s struggled with mental illness, and it’s even worse,” the insider went on.
Kim is said to be 'furious' following Kanye's latest social media attack on Pete as he mocked the former couple's recent break-up.
The 41-year-old SKIMs creator has reportedly dubbed his behaviour as 'appalling'.
"Kim won’t stand for this. She is demanding that Kanye take the post down, but he won’t," a source told Mail Online.
"She has been vigorously defending Pete. She’ll never get back together with Kanye over the way he’s treated the people she loves and respects."
Kim's recent split with Pete sent shockwaves through the showbiz world after she recently dubbed him as 'the one' amid their 9-month romance.
The pair fell head over heels for another last October after Kim co-hosted Saturday Night Live - and the pair shared a kiss on the programme while dressed up as Aladdin and Jasmine.
The Mirror has reached out to Pete's representatives for comment on this story.
