Kim Kardashian has described being a parent as the "most challenging [but] rewarding job" and revealed that she sometimes "cries herself to sleep" over the experience.
The reality TV star, 42, shares four children with her ex-husband Kanye West, 45. The former couple are parents to kids North, nine, Saint, seven, Chicago, five, and Psalm, four.
She discussed parenthood with life coach Jay Shetty, 35, for an upcoming episode of his On Purpose podcast, which is expected to be released next week on Monday (May 22).
A teaser clip for the episode shows Kim summarising her experience as a parent by saying she agrees with the sentiment that "the days are long and the years are short".
During the teaser, shared by People magazine, Kim says that it can be "madness" particularly when a parent to a baby, though she then added that it is "the best chaos".
Discussing a typical morning, Kim says she has to do one of her daughter's hair in a "certain way" and then one of her other kids will need help putting their shoes on, for example.
She described it as "full crazy madness" involving cooking and running around. She said parenting has taught her "the most" about herself and said it's been "the most challenging thing".
She said: "There are nights I cry myself to sleep. [...] Like 'what just happened?' You know, with all the moods and the personalities and sometimes they're fighting [and] there's no one there."
Alluding to being a single parent, she further commented in the recent teaser clip that she has to play "good police officer and bad cop" which has proved to be "a challenge".
She later said that a tantrum can turn her life "completely upside down" but added that it teaches parents "so much more" about themselves than they could have anticipated.
Kim further commented that there is "nothing" that can prepare someone for parenthood, and added: "It is the most challenging, rewarding job on this planet".
She has promoted the upcoming podcast episode on social media, telling her followers on Instagram recently that she had an "open and honest" conversation with host Jay.
And she teased: "We discussed the challenges of parenthood, navigating the highs and lows of life, how I get through the tougher days and so much more".
