Kilwinning's annual spectacular fireworks display is back and set to wow massive crowds at McGavin Park, on Friday, November 4.
The highly anticipated event draws massive crowds to Ayrshire every year and now organisers have outlined the running order for the bonanza as well as their tips for spectators to make the most of the event.
What's on this year?
Kicking off the fun-filled night at 4.30pm, food vendors will be serving up belly-busting burgers, delicious donuts and mouthwatering ice cream treats to get everybody fuelled for the show.
At the same time, funfair rides for various ages will open.
Then from 5pm, amazing fire acts, a magician, and Uncle Billy will entertain guests while balloon art will be given out for free.
Later on at 6pm, a lower noise family display will begin before the main pyromusical display set for 7.30pm.
Getting to and parking at McGavin Park
Organisers hope guests will consider all other options before driving to fireworks where ever possible to avoid delays.
Councillor Donald Reid explained: "We have Park and Walk routes signposted from Kilwinning Railway Station (via Claremont Crescent) and Kilwinning Town Centre parking (via college and Academy) plus the college car park.
"That alternative means you are not caught in traffic as much on arrival but especially on departure with the school car park reporting long delays to enter and leave with an hour to clear the site not being unusual.
"Please follow the signage and stewards will help."
Blue Badge Parking is limited at Kilwinning Academy and holders are reminded to have their badge on display.
The bus route runs nearby on the number 11 bus, with Beith and Ardrossan buses stopping right outside the park.
Kilwinning Train Station is an eight to 10-minute walk to the park.
How much will it cost?
The annual fireworks night is put on by volunteers at Kilwinning Community Events so donations are essential to keeping the event on.
This year, the suggested donation guide is £8 per family but you can instead offer up what you can afford.
Organiser Donald Reid said: "This year, we have provided online payment for visitors following many requests.
"There are loads of free things on offer and we will have buckets out.
"There will be a collecting bucket at the balloon art, magician and Uncle Billy performances.
"We look forward to seeing you all."
Funfair rides will be pay-as-you-go.
Organiser's handy tips
- Plan to arrive early - the event draws massive crowds every year, including visitors from out with Ayrshire.
- Toilets are at the Pavilion which includes an accessible toilet.
- No alcohol is allowed.
- The main viewing area is behind Underwood for the best viewpoint.
- Remember warm clothes, wellies or boots as we have wet grass underfoot and a torch.
- Make sure your children have a note of your name and mobile in case getting separated. Tell them to go to any steward if separated and we will have a lost children post signed at the stage and pavilion in the centre of the park.
