Aaron Muirhead reckons Ayr United's supporters can help make the difference on Derby D-Day.
United fans were locked out of the first trip to Rugby Park this season, but will be there to roar on their side tomorrow night.
And Muirhead says their vocal backing from the stands can play a vital part as Ayr bid to record a hugely important three points against their bitter rivals.
He said: "The support makes a difference, there's no doubt about that.
"Hopefully there will be a large number of Ayr fans giving us their backing tomorrow night.
"It will certainly give us a lift because having the fans back in lately has made a difference.
"We might not have got as many points on the board as we'd have liked but the fans being there has helped us - even if it's adding that extra one or five per cent.
"The fans will hopefully be our twelfth man tomorrow night and everyone in the squad is right up for it.
"All we can ask is for the supporters to stick with us during the 90 minutes and hopefully we can send them home happy with the three points."
Muirhead, who has played in two Ayrshire derbies, will take on an important role in passing on his knowledge of the fixture to the raft of new faces in the dressing room.
He added: "The boys that are coming up and are new to our squad have been made well aware of what the game means.
"And I'm quite sure that within half an hour of being in the stadium tomorrow night they'll know exactly what it means to the support and the surrounding areas.
"But you have to try as players not to get too wrapped up in it.
"It's another game - an important game for us - and we need the three points because of where we are in the league.
"Whether it be an Ayrshire derby or any other game, they are all important to us at this stage."
