Police are appealing to the public to be on the lookout for a murderer who is wanted after being released temporarily from a prison in South Gloucestershire.
Terry Game, who was jailed for the murder of Lisa Sullivan in Essex in 2005, was released on temporary licence from HMP Leyhill, but has failed to meet the conditions of that licence, Avon and Somerset police said.
A spokesperson for the police said Game was last seen on Thursday morning but failed to comply with a curfew and is now wanted.
Police said that anyone who sees him is advised not to approach him, but to call 999 immediately.
If anyone knows where he is, they should call 101, or with any other information.
Game was found guilty in 2006 of strangling Lisa Sullivan at a caravan park in Walton-in-the-Naze in August 2005.
Lisa was the daughter of blind pop star Lennie Peters, who was a household name in the 1970s as part of the duet Peters & Lee.
Game was 33 at the time, and according to an archived court report from the time the jury was told he had a "history of abuse and violence towards women he became involved with".
He was jailed for life with a minimum tariff of 15 years. He had been in Leyhill as preparation for his eventual release, but breached the terms of his licence, police said.
Police described the 50-year-old as white, with black hair possibly in a ponytail, and of large build.
"He has a beard and lip/nose piercings, and was wearing glasses, black Adidas tracksuit bottoms, a black t-shirt and black trainers. He has links to Hackney in London," said a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police.
"If you see him, please don’t approach, call 999 quoting reference 5222186835, or ring 101 with any other information," he added.
Lisa's body was discovered by her 11-year-old son at the Martello Caravan Park in Walton-on-the-Naze in August 2005, while on holiday with her then-boyfriend and three sons George, 11, Austin, four and two-year-old Reggie.
During a two-and-a-half-week trial, a jury at Basildon Crown Court heard that her partner Game told police she had accused him of being useless in bed.
He said he strangled her in self-defence after she attacked him.
The Daily Mail reports Judge Philip Clegg said at the trial: said: "Terry Game has been convicted by a jury of the murder of Lisa Sullivan. I am quite certain that on the evening in question, Lisa Sullivan was the victim of domestic violence.
"I found Terry Game was a bully to the woman who he lived with and in an outburst of violence, a loss of temper, in the early hours of August 3 he took her by the throat and quite literally strangled her.
"It must have been all too obvious that she was fighting for her life but nevertheless, driven by rage, he continued to do so."
