'Kill all Huns' banner at Rangers v Aberdeen match sparks police investigation

AN offensive banner at yesterday's Rangers v Aberdeen match at Ibrox has sparked a police investigation.

It is understood that during the game, fans in the away section of the stadium were seen holding up a banner bearing the message "Kill All Huns".

The word Hun - which refers to Protestants - is used by some as an offensive slur against Rangers fans.

Cops have now confirmed that they are aware of an incident involving a banner and that enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were made aware of a report of a banner held up at a Rangers/Aberdeen football match around 4.15pm on Saturday, October 29 2022.

"Enquiries are ongoing.”

Rangers and Aberdeen have been contacted for comment.
