There have been plenty of false dawns at Arsenal since the peak of Arsene Wenger's glory days, but it's clear something special is brewing in north London.
After years of misery and malice, Mikel Arteta has managed to repair the fractured relationship between the club and its long-suffering fanbase to bring unity back to the Emirates Stadium once again. That alone is an achievement in itself.
But with the club currently riding the crest of a wave at the summit of the Premier League, there is plenty of scope for the club to achieve far greater things. And although nobody will be getting carried anytime soon, more and more people are starting to sit up and take notice.
All of the noise and buzz that has surrounded the Gunners reached a crescendo last weekend when when they sealed a statement win against Liverpool to emphatically legitimise the their title credentials.
That triumph was played in a frenetic atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium - and Jamie Carragher stressed afterwards that the unity and the togetherness that has been forged over the last 12 months by Arteta has been the driving force behind the club's surprise title tilt.
He told Sky Sports after the match: "I feared that going into the game, that they would have too much intensity and pace for Liverpool and I think that was proven. In terms of Arsenal, I think you know I've always been a fan of what Mikel Arteta is doing there or trying to do. I love the energy of the team, the bravery of going with those young players last year, and I just love the energy in the stadium right now.
"That's something I haven't seen since I've been doing this job and looking at Arsenal. There's an energy there, there's a togetherness. The song that they sing, 'North London Forever' by Louis Dunford, listening to it, you just feel something."

And it turns out that Carragher isn't the only person who feels the remarkable buzz that Arteta has generated around the Emirates Stadium has been behind Arsenal's title push.
Gunners full-back Kieran Tierney has also been wowed by the incredible atmosphere at the club in the opening weeks of the season. And while insists that nobody will be getting carried away in the capital, he was quick to highlight the incredible connection that new exists between the club and its fanbase.
He told Sky Sports : "The connection with the fans is the best it’s been since I came here. We know we’re playing well so hopefully we can keep it up."
And he also reserved extra praise for Arteta, adding: "A new manager and a new style of play is going to take time to get playing the way he wants. If it was easy just to go and do it in one game, everybody would. The detail he puts in, the effort that he and his staff put in it was always going to work, but it was going to take time. You could always see in the last couple of seasons it was working but now we've just done it more consistently."
