Kids have a scarily good time in Castle Douglas for Hallowe'en

Youngsters had a scarily good time in Castle Douglas on Saturday afternoon.

Margaret Donohoe and Gill Gallacher from CD Civic Fest organised a Hallowe’en spooktacular in the town hall.

As well as a fancy dress competition, there was face painting, games, spooky story telling and sweets.

And The Wee Pottery from Kirkcudbright brought along some Hallowe’en creations for people to paint.

Rounding off the fun in the evening was prize bingo.

The town hall also saw members of the Balletbox School of Dance being put through their paces ahead of their upcoming Christmas show.

The children, aged from two-and-a-half to 16, will be performing a range of ballet, tap and jazz at the venue next month.

Photographer Jim McEwan popped in to see the junior jazz group rehearsing – complete with Hallowe’en costumes.

The performance on December 9 is sold out but tickets are still available for December 10 and 11 by messaging the Balletbox Facebook page or calling 07546 858715.
