Kids armed with 'golf clubs' chased by police through quiet village

Police recovered a number of weapons from a gang of teenagers after they were spotted armed at a train station.

On Thursday night, a large number of teenagers with golf clubs and baseball bats were seen at Freshfield Railway Station in Formby. After officers responded to the calls the group were then seen boarding a train where they got off at Birkdale with their faces covered.

Once the police caught up with them the group splintered into small groups forcing the police to chase them. While on the run the teenagers threw the weapons over garden walls and stashed them in bushes. After searching the area a number of the group were caught by police who recovered numerous weapons including golf clubs and metal bars.
