Kia India has unveiled the Kia Syros EV, its second mass-market electric vehicle for the Indian market, and opened pre-bookings for Rs 25,000 through its website and authorised dealerships.
The electric SUV is available with two battery pack options and offers an ARAI-certified range of up to 526 km. Kia has also announced a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty, an assured buyback programme and Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing options.
Kia Syros EV range, battery and performance
The Kia Syros EV is offered with two battery options:
- 51.4 kWh battery with an ARAI-certified range of 526 km (MIDC Full)
- 42 kWh battery with an ARAI-certified range of 443 km (MIDC Full)
The larger battery produces 171 PS and enables the SUV to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 8.1 seconds. The vehicle uses a Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery with an IP67 rating and a liquid-cooled thermal management system.
Kia Syros EV charging and ownership package
According to Kia, the Syros EV supports 100 kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in 39 minutes. It also comes with a 10.8 kW onboard AC charger and features battery conditioning for improved charging performance.
The company has also introduced:
- Lifetime high-voltage battery warranty (up to 15 years, subject to terms and conditions)
- Assured buyback programme
- Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing option
