Khloe Kardashian has broken her silence on the tragic death of her ex Tristan Thompson's mum and grandmother to their children, Andrea.
The Kardashians star, 38, admits she still "feels numb" following her death at the beginning of January, calling the loss the "toughest time".
Tristan, 31, was left devastated when his mum suffered a heart attack and was rushed to hospital, but tragically could not be saved.
Khloe hasn't publicly spoken out about Andrea's shock death until earlier today, penning a touching tribute alongside a carousel of pictures on Instagram.
Andrea was grandmother to Khloe and basketball player Tristan's daughter, True, four, and their unnamed five-month-old son.
"I have been avoiding this," she wrote during the early hours of this morning. "Avoiding accepting this is real. I have so much to say but nothing at all."
She added: "I have so many emotions and still I feel numb. Life can be brutally unfair at times and This has been one of the toughest times in so many of our lives.
"But at the same time, I feel blessed that I am lucky to have had someone that makes saying goodbye so incredibly difficult.
"So difficult that I’m choosing not to say goodbye for good because that is something I cannot fathom. Goodbyes for good are something I don’t believe in."
Khloe's emotional message included mentions of Andrea's "sweet voice" and her "infectious laugh", adding: "I will continue to miss you more and more every single day."
She said her family were "crying" at the difficult loss, adding that her boys will "learn to live with the hole in their hearts".
Speaking of Tristan's younger brother, Khloe said: "Just know, I promise you, Amari will be perfectly ok. We will all look after him, help him and protect him."
"Your boys will be ok because they have their guardian Angel by their side. I love you, I love you, I love you," she wrote – alongside a quote from the bible and love heart emojis.
It comes after Khloe and Tristan put on a united display at Andrea's funeral alongside Khloe's momager Kris Jenner and sister Kim Kardashian.
A source close to the family told PEOPLE why it was important for Kim, 42, Kris, 67 and Khloe to be present for Tristan in his time of need.
They explained: "They all want to be there for Tristan. He will always be family. It’s a devastating situation for him. They want to do everything they can to support him."
