JAIPUR: It was a fruitful day for Rajasthan at the Khelo India Youth Games 2023 in Chennai with twin gold in the cycling event.
Cyclists Kheta Ram Chinga and Vimla Machra clinched gold medals in boys’ individual pursuit and girls sprint respectively to help Rajasthan move to eighth position in the medal’s standings in the 6th Khelo India Youth Games 2023 on Tuesday.
Chinga was head and shoulders ahead of the competitor to finish the race in 3:50.494s, ahead of Bihar’s Prahalad Kumar (3:51.953). Telangana’s Aashirwad Saxena (3:47.502) took home the bronze medal.
Later in the day, Machra added another gold to the state’s tally with a sprint gold. She crossed the finish line in 0:14.099. J Srimathi (0:14.271) of Tamil Nadu and Manipur’s Heisnam Chanu (0:14.267) clinched the silver and bronze medal.
