A video of crystal-clear lake has gone viral on social media. Nestled in the green forests of West Sikkim, Khecheopalri Lake has become a symbol of faith, mystery and natural beauty. The crystal clear water body called the ‘Wishing Lake’ is believed to fulfil wishes by devotees and legends link its sacred waters with Goddess Tara and Lord Shiva. The lake has also become famous for a unique natural phenomenon – although it is surrounded by dense forests, its surface is unusually clean. Locals believe that birds act as the guardians of the lake, removing fallen leaves and keeping it pure. Once again, a recent video of the stunning beauty of Khecheopalri Lake is bringing the lesser-known destination into the limelight. The clip shows the calm waters reflecting the green hills around, giving a mirror-like view that has fascinated travellers and devotees.
