Bengaluru: Launching a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday accused the central government of undermining the autonomy of the Election Commission to facilitate "vote chori" (theft of votes) and announced that he and Rahul Gandhi will meet the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant on Monday.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Kharge stated that both leaders have formally written to the CJI seeking an appointment between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM to apprise the judiciary of the current state of democracy in the country.
