Navas in moving statement
Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Keylor Navas has made a surprise transfer admission ahead of returning to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
The Reds snapped up the experienced shot-stopper in a January loan deal after former number one Dean Henderson suffered an injury.
Signing Navas , a three-times Champions League winner with Real Madrid, was a coup for Steve Cooper and Co, and the 36-year-old has subsequently started the club’s last 10 league games after playing second fiddle behind Gianluigi Donnarumma at PSG.
But having rediscovered the feeling of being first choice with Forest, it remains to be seen what Navas will do in the summer. However, he has confessed that one of his ambitions remains to play in Mexico before he retires.
All hail the chief
Nottingham Forest have confirmed the appointing of Ross Wilson as their chief football officer.
The 39-year-old arrives from Scottish giants Rangers, where he had held the position of sporting director since 2019.
Wilson joins the Reds following the departure of former sporting director Filippo Giraldi, who was sacked by owner Evangelos Marinakis on Tuesday.
A club statement read: "Nottingham Forest have appointed former Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson as the club’s chief football officer following the departure of sporting director, Filippo Giraldi. Wilson joins the Reds with immediate effect."
Wilson's football philosophy
Nottingham Forest have handed former Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson a key role at the City Ground - but just who is the Reds' new chief football officer?
Wilson arrives after a successful few years in Scottish football, but he had come under fire from Rangers fans recently for their perceived lack of progress and poor recruitment - just as Celtic emerged from playing second fiddle to Steven Gerrard's Gers.
But the 39-year-old is still highly regarded in English football and brings plenty of board-level experience with him to Forest, where he is expected to work closely with both owner Evangelos Marinakis and head coach Steve Cooper.
United face Forest setback
Manchester United could be without three players for their weekend clash with Nottingham Forest.
The Reds are set to play host to United at the City Ground for the first time since 1999 in the Premier League on Sunday (4.30pm kick-off). Steve Cooper and Co will be determined to get an important result against the top four hopefuls as they looks to halt a run of nine games without a win.
Before turning their attention to Forest , United are preparing to take on Sevilla in the first leg of their Europa League quarter final on Thursday. And manager Erik ten Hag has given an injury update on his squad, ruling a trio of players out for the game at Old Trafford, just a few days before their trip to the City Ground.
