James Tavernier revealed he moved to Israel because he is desperate to win titles, after starring in a derby romp for his new club, Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The 34-year-old former Rangers skipper made a surprise move to sign for ex-Ibrox teammate Kenny Miller's side in a one-year deal.
Tavernier is now the highest-paid player in Israel and helped Maccabi Tel Aviv thrash bitter rivals Hapoel Tel Aviv 4-1 at home in their derby.
He insisted one of the main reasons he moved to Maccabi was to add another title winners' medal after lifting the league crown once during his time at Rangers.
And he was blown away by the atmosphere inside their Bloomfield Stadium home.
Tavernier said: "I had options, but I wanted to get to a place where I have a chance to win titles, because I've always wanted to win since I was a little boy.
"I've experienced many atmospheres in Europe and of course at Ibrox, but this was a special and amazing atmosphere.
"I just called my wife after the game and said the noise was just unbelievable
"Kenny Miller called me for the first time when I was on holiday with my family in America. He put it in such a way that this is a club that wants to win titles and how passionate the club and the fans are.
"The decision to leave Rangers came from wanting a new challenge and I especially wanted to be in the sun for a bit after years in the rain!
"It was a great opportunity. Being here in the last few weeks, experiencing the fans, the team and the club - it's really special and I'm happy with the decision. I've played two games and a few training sessions and when I'm fully fit I can give my best.
"I could always tell Kenny was made for coaching. He’s exactly the same as he was as a player - his standards are very high and he pushes the team to reach them. That’s the strongest thing about him, he always demands the best."

And Tavernier had no qualms about the controversy he created by going to play in Israel.
He pointed out: "I think what you read or see at home doesn’t always do justice to the reality in Israel.
"From what I’ve experienced so far, it’s a beautiful place.
"What’s even more exciting is that my family is moving here soon. My wife is really looking forward to it after having a good week here.
"There are great people and the place is lovely. Of course, you know that things are happening around, but from what I’ve experienced myself, everything is wonderful.
"I feel like a kid in a new school. When you see the history of the club, I wanted to add to that this season, and maybe next season there will be a chance in the Champions League."
