Michigan State basketball took one on the chin in their last loss to Purdue on the road, but got a much-needed break this week before they head to New York to face a solid Rutgers team in Madison Square Garden.
Before the game, Tom Izzo spoke to the media about his team and gave some injury updates and other insights into the program, which you can see below.

Izzo on the Big Ten race: "We're only one game out of second in the loss column. Unfortunately, we're only one game out of 11th. I've never, ever in my life seen the league like this."

Izzo says he's rather play at Madison Square Garden than the RAC, first because of the difficulty of the Rutgers' home road environment but also because of the excitement and energy of playing at the Garden.

Izzo says getting Hall back closer to 100% will help solidify MSU's rotation. Doesn't anticipate changing lineup at this point. "It's not 100% yet" but thinks Hall helps the Spartans run and rebound better.
