A coin seller has sold a rare collectable for almost £200 with people being urged to check their change.
Listed on eBay, the seller manged to secure a winning bid of £175.10 for the coin titled 'Rare 100% Genuine 2009 Kew Gardens 50p Coin In Excellent Circulated Condition'. This was after a total of 20 bids.
Ending on May 1 - just a few days ago - the winning bidder is now in for a real treat with them having secured a rare coin, and one that is highly-sought after.

The price mark for such coins is about average with experts saying people can expert around £200 for these coins. However as always, it can sell for more or less depending on how badly the collector wants it.
Rachel Hooper, Product Group Manager for Change Checker has been working in the industry for over five years, specialising in UK new issue coins and championing the hobby of change collecting.
Talking about the Kew Garden's collection she explained: "The Kew Gardens 50p always seems to be at the top of the Scarcity index and it's really the holy grail I guess of change collecting.
"It's certainly pretty hard to come by and there's only 210,000 of them out there which is really, really low especially when you consider where the next rarest 50p in circulation is the Beatrix Potter one which is 1.4 million. The Olympic [coins] ones are rare too."
With this in mind, people should now be checking their change as despite many moving to contactless payments, especially since Covid, certain coins can still be worth a fair bit.
If you find a Kew Gardens 50p, you should check the date. As previously reported by Glasgow Live, this is because the Royal Mint reissued a batch of the coins in 2019 to celebrate 50 years of the 50p, with this version not tending to sell for as much.
However, even if you find one of the less coveted 2019 version, you could still be in for a small windfall, as they can sell for between £70 and £80 on eBay.
