YouTube 'dating guru' Kevin Samuels has died aged 57.
He is believed to have been suffering from chest pains before collapsing - prompting a nurse to dial 911, according to reports.
Police had been called to Residence Buckhead Atlanta following a call made by Ortensia Alcantara, 32, who had told the operator that a "person was injured".
In the report filed by the Atlanta Police Department, Police Officer Joel Figuereo arrived on the scene to see an EMS worker "performing CPR to a black male" who was "unresponsive" as he lat on the floor of his apartment.
Alcantara, who is a nurse, later identified the man on the floor as Samuels and explained that she had spent the night with him.
However, she told police that Samuels began experiencing a chest pains in the morning and that she "attempted to help him... but he fell on top of her."
She also said that she requested the 911 operator to contact the front desk for a defibrillator to keep him alive until the ambulance came.
He was later transported to Piedmont Hospital, where he died.
His mother, Beverly Samuels-Burch, spoke to NBC News and told the station that she only found out he had died through social media.
She said: "That was a terrible thing for social media to put that out. I didn't even know
"I hadn't even been notified. All I'm doing is requesting that people pray for us."
Samuels has been considered a controversial figure in the YouTube community over his derogatory comments about women.
Last week, he suggested in a video that unmarried women over 35 were "leftovers" and that there was "something wrong with them.
"If you have made it to 35 and you are unmarried, you are a leftover woman. You are what is left," he said. "Men know that there is something likely wrong with you."
