Kevin Nisbet Hibs injury update as Lee Johnson confirms 'best case scenario' in major boost

Hibs have been handed a major Kevin Nisbet injury boost.

The Hibees striker pulled up during the first half of the draw with Ross County in Dingwall midweek and had to be replaced. It was a worrying sight having spent an extended period on the sidelines and returned in top form.

However, scans have revealed the injury is not as bad as first feared and he should return later this month against Kilmarnock. The news will come as a huge relief to the Easter Road faithful and club boss Lee Johnson who admits the news was 'best case scenario' He told Hibs official website: "This was the best case scenario as it was the lightest of hamstring strains. Nizzy has shown what a big player he is for us this season and we look forward to having him back playing shortly.”

A club statement read: "Hibernian FC can provide the latest update on Kevin Nisbet who came off injured against Ross County in midweek. The Hibs striker pulled up mid-way through the first half against Ross County on Tuesday night.

"Scans have revealed that the injury is not as bad as first feared and the 25-year-old has the mildest of strains in his hamstring.

"That means Nisbet will miss today’s clash with St Mirren in Paisley, but he will likely be back fit for our home fixture with Kilmarnock later this month."
