Sydney FC manager Steve Corica has tipped Kevin Muscat to be Rangers' version of Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou.
The former Light Blues defender has followed the blueprint of the 57-year-old and has lifted the J-League crown with Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan. That's been added to his haul of two A-League crowns during his time with Melbourne Victory. Giovanni van Bronckhorst is feeling major heat at Ibrox after a run of poor results and performances. Dropped points against Livingston and St Mirren and defeat at St Johnstone has left his side trailing Celtic by nine points in the race for the Premiership title.
Muscat has been one named mentioned as a possible replacement should the Dutchman be axed from his position. He's worked closely with Postecoglou in the past and Corica - who recorded a win over the Hoops boss in the Sydney Super Cup opener - is in no doubt that he could be Rangers' equivalent to the Aussie gaffer.

Speaking after Sydney FC's 2-1 triumph over Celtic at the Allianz Stadium, he said: “Yes he could, why not? Kevin obviously took over Yokohama after Ange. He had a lot of turnaround of players and stuff like that.
“But he went on and won the league this season, so I’m sure Kevin could do a great job at Rangers. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kevin’s being linked with the job.
“He’s just won the J-League in Japan while he’s also won the A-League here. So Kevin’s very capable, he’s a very good coach and I know he’s very thorough in what he does.
“Wherever he’s gone he’s won trophies. So, I have no doubt he would do a great job at Rangers.
“Of course Kevin would take on Ange. He’s very competitive, Kevin. He’s a fiery character and yes, obviously, very good at his job. I’m sure one day he probably will end up at Rangers.”
Corica would love to watch the duo battle it out in Scotland for the Premiership crown labelling the potential head to head as 'fascinating'.
He continued: “It would be fascinating. Kevin obviously took over from Ange at Melbourne Victory and had a very successful period there too. Then he followed Ange to Yokohama and won the league there, just like Ange.
“Both of them are doing very well and I think both of them are helping Australian coaches as well. Obviously in the J-League, they’ve both won trophies.
“Ange has moved on to Scotland and won trophies there. So, that’s only helping the Australian coaches. There are a lot of good Australian coaches around. That’s maybe paving the way for others to follow Ange and Kevin.”
