Kevin Kilbane has jumped to the defence of Eni Aluko after the pundit was targeted by online trolls.
The England legend has been a regular pundit as part of ITV's World Cup coverage but found herself targeted by online trolls after Brazil's win against South Korea.
Appearing on TV, Aluko said that Richarlison was averaging nearly a goal in game after scoring 19 times in 40 appearances.
And a number of pundits have jumped in to defend Aluko after she misspoke with Kevin Kilbane among them.
Former BBC TV presenter Dan Walker was among them as he also revealed that live on air he called the pentagon an octagon shaped building while live on air.
He said: We all know what she meant and if either of the blokes alongside her had said it… it would have been ignored. The bile beneath this says a lot more about the authors than Eni Aluko. P.S. I once called the Pentagon an “octagonal shaped building in Washington"
And Kilbane replied to Walker, saying: "It’s total crap Dan. We’ve all been there let’s be honest. Whether she’s good or not is irrelevant from what’s said here."
Aluko also took to social media as she said: "Got myself a First class law degree, 102 caps & a Doctorate but Maths wasn’t always my forte.
"Nearly 1 in 2 games is the math on Richarlison. But some of you weirdo twitterati knew that already. Might also learn from the rest of the analysis conveniently ignored."
