During the Golden State Warriors preseason contest against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night, Jordan Poole looked in midseason form. Despite an eventful week at practice, the rising 23-year-old guard put on a show against the Lakers in front of Warriors fans at San Francisco’s Chase Center.
Poole tallied a team-high 25 points on 10-of-19 shooting with a trio of 3-pointers, along with six assists, four rebounds and zero turnovers in 23 minutes. Poole heated up after the halftime whistle, scoring 18 of his points in the third quarter.
While he heated up in the third quarter, Poole caught the attention of Kevin Durant. Following a smooth take and a crafty finish from Poole, Durant chimed in on Twitter with praise for the Warriors’ budding star’s bucket.

Despite Poole’s impressive 25-point performance, the Warriors couldn’t hold on for a victory. Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 28 points on the way to a win over the Warriors, 124-121.
Poole and the Warriors will be back on the floor for another preseason game at Chase Center on Tuesday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
