Joel Embiid’s historic 70-point night for the Philadelphia 76ers was obviously not your run-of-the-mill NBA performance. It’s the kind that has fans and active star players all in awe once they hear of the news.
Kevin Durant, one of the greatest pure scorers in history, was no different.
After Durant ironically nailed a buzzer-beater to beat the Chicago Bulls, a reporter tried asking him for his thoughts on Embiid’s 70-point effort. Durant was so shocked that he just repeated, “70???” to himself before hilariously letting out a curse word. It’s telling how impressive Embiid’s performance was when someone who’s been around the block, like Durant, can’t react without complete shock.
