Man City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been compared to Paul Scholes and Steven Gerrard after his side beat Manchester United 4-1.
De Bruyne took the captain's armband on Sunday and grabbed a first-half brace to give City a 2-1 lead going into halftime. Riyad Mahrez grabbed a brace of his own in the second half as the Blues cruised to a comfortable victory.
Speaking on Sky Sports post-match, Jamie Redknapp placed the Belgian among some of the best midfielders in Premier League history. He explained: "We talk about elite players. If you’re a City fan you get a masterclass each week.

"It’s a joy to watch him [De Bruyne]. The way he strikes the ball is different to others, it’s a bit like Paul Scholes, he’s got a bit of pace like Steven Gerrard too, a bit of Gerrard about him too in the way he operates in midfield.
"The amount of times he was picking up the ball in space today. It was easy for him."
Roy Keane, who played alongside Scholes at United, added to the praise: "Brilliant. Good attitude and professionalism.
"[He is] getting back to his best, his delivery, goals and assists. He’ll be up there as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League come the end of his career."
