Weeks after Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown trolled his old team, the Tennessee Titans, safety Kevin Byard shared his thoughts on it ahead of the matchup at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.
In Week 9 with Titans receivers struggling to get open against the Kansas City Chiefs, Brown tweeted out “ain’t nobody open” with laughing emojis and a GIF to troll his former team.
Of course, Brown would eventually delete it because, well, that’s what he does.
It was the latest example of Brown playing the villain, at least in the eyes of Titans fans. He has gotten into Twitter spats with fans, said the Titans were “no fun” while he was there, and then this.

With the Eagles on tap for the Titans this Sunday, Byard was asked about the tweet on Monday but was diplomatic in his response.
“I mean, A.J. always has little moments on social media and stuff like that,” Byard said, per John Glennon of Sports Illustrated. “I wouldn’t say it surprised me or nothing like that.
“Obviously when he tweeted that… it was during the game… So, I didn’t see it until after the game. It was funny. But you know, he’s got his thoughts and stuff like that. He obviously is a guy I respect and love and admire. I’m going to chop it up with him pre-game, probably after the game and everything. But he’s in Philly now. We can only focus on what we can do.”
Since that tweet, Brown has 10 catches for 113 yards, one touchdown and two lost fumbles in his last three games. Meanwhile, the Titans have seen Treylon Burks start to break out, and the passing attack has been better in general.
Now, that’s not to say that the Titans don’t miss Brown badly, because they absolutely do. In fact, at one point, Brown had more receiving yards and touchdowns by himself than Tennessee’s entire wide receivers room.
We’ll see who gets the last laugh on Sunday.
