Savage replaced Paudie Clifford as a temporary sub in July's All-Ireland final win over Galway.
He was a regular throughout Kerry's successful Division One Allianz League campaign and scored 0-05 against Armagh, but that substitute cameo in the All-Ireland final was his sole championship appearance.
An All-Ireland minor title winner in 2013, he was recalled to the Kerry senior squad last winter by manager Jack O'Connor, having not represented his county since 2018.
At club level, Savage recently starred for O'Rahilly's as he plundered 1-05 in their win over Spa in the county championship.
