A man died yesterday evening following a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the Kenmare to Bantry Road in Co Kerry.
Emergency services and Gardai rushed to the scene of the accident at Drominassig at approximately 6pm on Wednesday evening and the driver of the only car involved in the collision, a man aged in his 30s, was rushed to Cork University Hospital.
The man passed away from his injuries a short time later. A post-mortem is due to take place at CUH in due course.

The road remains closed this morning to allow for a full forensic examination, while investigating Gardai are now appealing for witnesses, particularly those with dash-cam footage of the area around the time of the incident, to come forward.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed to The Irish Mirror: "Gardaí in Kerry attended the scene of a fatal single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 6pm on Wednesday evening, 15th February 2023. The collision occurred on the N71, Kenmare to Bantry Road at Drominassig, Co. Kerry.
"The driver of the car, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to Cork University Hospital where he later passed away from his injuries. A post-mortem will now take place in due course.
"A technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision investigators is set to take place this morning. The road is currently closed, with local diversions currently in place.
"Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to them.
