Kerry Katona in tears after undergoing hypnotherapy for mental health struggle

Kerry Katona broke down in tears as she recalled her latest experience with alternative therapies.

The former Atomic Kitten singer, 42, told fans how she couldn't stop shaking after having a powerful form of hypnotherapy, explaining to her Instagram followers: "I feel like I've just been rebooted, like I've just been reborn."

Kerry - who recently admitted to an 'amazing' experience on 'magic mushrooms' while on family holiday - opened up over the weekend in a candid video message on Instagram, claiming: "I've got in touch with little Kerry, who's been through s***."

The mum-of-five explained how writing her latest memoir, due to be published next month, impacted her mental health and left her feeling 'triggered' - leading her to contact therapist Marcus Matthews after exhausting other avenues.

"I have been struggling with my mental health and anxiety and fear," Kerry admits in the powerful video shared to her Instagram page on Sunday.

"I've been the doctors, had my medication up. I've really, really been struggling. Then I met this guy. I can't stop crying. This is Marcus Matthews, please go and follow him.

"He's just done the most amazing thing on me. You guided me through this and I cannot give this man enough praise for what he'd just done to me.

"I feel like I've just been rebooted, like I've just been reborn. It's like I've had an awakening, like a higher power. I've got in touch with little Kerry, who's been through s***. I've reached out to her and I've looked after her. Honest to god this guy is amazing. It was so powerful."

Kerry then hands over to Marcus to explain his methods and techniques, with the therapist telling the star's followers: "What we've done is we've used a very powerful technique of hypnotheraphy to find the root cause of why Kerry's been feeling the way she's been feeling.

"We've released this massive feeling so I think we can say you connected with the universe, didn't you?"

Kerry replied: "Massively. I heard two voices. I am a massive believer in all this and you all know I am. I'm still shaking, this was so powerful.

"I'm a massive advocate for mental health. If you need any kind of therapy this f***ing man - sorry for swearing - please get in touch with this man.

Kerry recently revealed her plans for more spiritual experiences after taking magic mushrooms (Instagram)

"I can't even explain properly what's happened. It was very emotional."

Kerry's latest Instagram update comes following her admission she and fiancé Ryan Mahoney enlisted someone to watch her kids during a getaway in Spain while they enjoyed a spiritual experience thanks to hallucinogens and a team of professionals.

The one-time I'm a Celebrity.... Get Me Out of Here! winner recalled herself and Ryan crying their eyes out after taking magic mushrooms - a Class A drug in the UK - and seemingly blasted the British government for prohibiting legal use of the drug and preventing citizens from achieving "that free conscious mind."

During the chat on Shaun Attwood’s True Crime podcast, Kerry also described herself as a "conspiracy theories person" and revealed her future plans to try ayahuasca, a psychoactive tea that triggers hallucinations - a spiritual experience Hollywood Megan Fox likened to being taken to the 'depths of hell' when she tried drank the tea last year.

Throughout the podcast chat, Kerry also opened up about her previous well-documented battle with narcotics, but claimed the magic mushrooms and other similar drugs are different - adding: "I’m a massive spiritual person, I believe in a higher power, I believe in visualisation, manifestation."
