Kerry Katona is horrified as she discovers she's been making a major bathroom error all her life.
The former Atomic Kitten singer spoke on a podcast about where she puts her used tampons.
The star said she is " 42 years of age and I’m still learning something new everyday" after discovering that she has been making an error.
Kerry admitted that she tends to flush her used tampons down the toilet once she's finished with them, but didn't know this could cause blockages.
Fans were shocked to find out that the mum of five didn't know this already and has only just found out.
Speaking on the BBC, Kerry said: "So when you take your Tampax out, what do you do with it? Where do you put it?"
Alison then joked back: "I just swing it round my finger and hope for the best."
Kerry explained: "I've always put it in the toilet... am I not supposed to do that?"
Alison then explained why she doesn't flush her tampons down the toilet, saying: "I just don't like the thought of my tampon hitting a wild swimmer. You know, like a lady who's just come out for a swim in the river."
Kerry went on to say she needs to Google it to find out if she has been doing the wrong thing her whole life.
She said: "I've got to Google this now. No you can't! Oh my god! 'No, tampons can cause plumbing blockages that can lead to sewage backflow."
The star then told listeners to "wrap your tampons up and put them in the bin".
Fans of Kerry took to the comments to say how surprised they were that she didn't already know this.
One person said: "I’ve always used the bin! Thought everyone knows this."
As another wrote: "You're not serious?! How would you not know the basics?"
Whereas some followers agreed with Kerry that they have always flushed their tampons.
A fan said: "I always thought tampons down the loo, pads in the bin but I mostly use period pants nowadays," with another adding: "I always flush them maybe I will stop now."
