Kerry Katona cries 'she wants to get better' as mystery illness leaves her 'bedbound'

Kerry Katona has broken down in tears on Instagram while telling her fans that she's been struck down with a mystery illness.

The former Atomic Kitten singer, 42, insisted that she 'just wants to feel better' after battling a mystery illness for days.

The mum-of-five, who is preparing to undergo corrective surgery on her tummy tuck in the New Year, burst into tears as she explained her symptoms to her 809,000 Instagram followers.

Sharing the health update from the comfort of her bed, while wrapped up in her dressing gown, Kerry expressed her desperation to feel well again as she penned: "Just wanna feel better."

Kerry's bedbound snap came after she showcased how 'an aging ex popstar' looks with the flu.

The star shared a makeup-free image of herself looking glum while she was cooped up at home feeling worse for wear.

"This is what an aging ex popstar looks like full of the flu," Kerry captioned the candid snap.

Kerry's nasty flu comes just days after she opened up about her body issues, admitting she feels uncomfortable in her 'really swollen body' after failing to look after herself properly after undergoing a tummy tuck.

The former Celebs Go Dating star is now looking ahead to corrective surgery to help her with her body struggles.

Brave Kerry showed off her swollen midriff and lifted the lid on her plans to have even more surgery in just a matter of weeks.

The mum-of-five is scheduled in to have corrective surgery in January, and while she's there, she thought she would kill two birds with one stone and undergo an eyelid lift at the same time.

While backstage during her panto last week, Kerry posted a video of herself as she revealed her corrective surgery saga.

"Can’t wait for January in fact, I think I might just move in with you guys!!! Getting my eye lift too!! Woohooo," she penned alongside the video.

Speaking in the Instagram video, she also admitted: "I never looked after myself properly and I've messed it all up, my body is really swollen."

"I've got a bad back and hip at the moment and I feel like an old woman wobbling around," Kerry also recently penned in her new! magazine column.

Kerry explained that she had endured the pain issues for years: "I don't know what's going on with my body. I'm really swollen and it hasn't got any better. I ended up going to A&E as I was so worried about it. They've told me they need to investigate further.

"So for now, my doctor at Pall Mall Cosmetics has given me some water tablets which will hopefully help with the swelling."

Kerry continued: "I'm really looking forward to having my corrective surgery with them - and my eyelid lift."

The swelling has got so bad recently, that Kerry has sometimes struggled to breathe while lying down in bed.

"I was lying down in bed and I felt like I couldn't breathe. My throat and chest felt really tight, it was awful. I felt like I was going to die. My body has been swollen since I had surgery last year," Kerry wrote in her column.

"My whole body is sore and puffy - my legs, my stomach, my face, my neck. I feel like I need popping."

Kerry has undergone a number of cosmetic procedures on her body - most recently, going under the knife to have her third breast reduction.
