The Coronation Concert was a real success, with great performances from the likes of Olly Murs, Take That, and Katy Perry.
But there was a much-loved household name that arguably 'upstaged' the Royal family in the Royal box as he sat on Prince Edward's knee during the festivities - the puppet, Kermit.
Earlier in the show, Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog had been filmed chatting about proceedings, but when Kermit the Frog was spotted on Edward's knee, people watching were left in stitches.
The iconic characters from The Muppet Show joined the host of the Coronation concert, Hugh Bonneville, on stage with Miss Piggy being unable to hide her attraction for the Notting Hill actor.
As she made a move on the English actor, the cameras panned to Prince George and Princess Charlotte who could be seen giggling.
Later, when Kermit the Frog appeared on screen again, some people joked that Prince Edward and Kermit had attended the event 'twinning' in almost identical formal outfits for the occasion.
Royal Central Tweeted: "The Duke of Edinburgh is upstaged in the Royal Box by Kermit the Frog!"
In the thread, people were posting a flurry of crying with laughter emojis at the similarities between the pair, with one joking: "I love how Edward and Kermit are kind of wearing the same outfit."
Another said: "Edward and Kermit are twinning! Just the tie appears to be a slight shade different!"
Someone took the joke one step further, commenting: "They look a bit alike, to be honest!"
Kermit the Frog is famous for being in the Muppet Show, and he also appeared on Sesame Street as a journalist. The shy, awkward, and kindhearted character is most famous for being romantically linked with Miss Piggy, and for his sweet sense of humour.
In the short clip, Kermit the Frog could be seen enthusiastically waving the flag of the United Kingdom, with his mouth wide open in amusement as Edward also beamed from ear to ear at what was going on whilst he clapped and looked joyful.
