IDUKKI: Former Devikulam MLA S Rajendran, who was suspended from CPM’s primary membership for one year, submitted a letter to CPM state committee demanding withdrawal of suspension.
According to a source close to the party, Rajendran met CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and submitted documents and a letter. “The letter stated that the party-appointed inquiry commission’s findings were pre-planned by some leaders to expel him from the party. Rajendran said in the letter that former minister MM Mani tarnished him in party meetings. He claims that Mani opposes emergence of new leaders from plantation sector and sidelined many local leaders in the district,” said the source. Rajendran also included videos and photos of those who attended the election campaign in Devikulam.
Rajendran told TOI that the party leadership is yet to reply to his letter. “I want to prove that I am innocent,” he said.
