Kenya Moore, the founder of Kenya Moore Haircare and former star of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta,' recently expressed her openness to reuniting with her former co-star Porsha Williams on the show. Despite their past conflicts, Moore acknowledges the undeniable chemistry they brought to the show and believes their dynamic could still create captivating television.
Moore, 53, considers herself and Williams, 42, as the best 'frenemies' on the series. She believes some of the most iconic moments on 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' were created when they were onscreen together. Williams made the decision to leave the show in September 2021 after being part of the cast for a decade, stating that she was ready to start a new chapter in her life. She has since married Nigerian businessman Simon Guobadia in November 2022, marking a new phase for her.
As for the upcoming Season 16 of 'RHOA,' Moore reveals that casting is almost finalized and expects filming to begin in the spring. She speculates that the production team is focused on creating a dynamic cast with a mix of veterans and fresh faces, holding hope for Williams' return. However, Moore does not share the same optimism regarding another original cast member, NeNe Leakes.
Leakes, 56, filed a lawsuit against Bravo, executive producer Andy Cohen, and others in April 2022, alleging racism and discrimination. Although she dropped the suit four months later, Moore believes Leakes sealed her fate by exiting the show in 2020 and doubts her return.
Prior to our interview with Moore, it was announced that Kandi Burruss, who had been a part of 'RHOA' for a record-breaking 14 seasons, would not be returning for Season 16. Burruss shared her decision on the red carpet of the 2024 Grammy Awards, explaining that she felt the show had kept the cast waiting for too long during the hiatus between seasons. She has been working on other projects and is excited about the opportunities ahead.
Burruss, 47, emphasized that the decision to leave was not solely due to the extended break between seasons. After some introspection and encouragement from a friend, she realized that she had been doing the show for so long that it felt strange to consider not doing it. Ultimately, she decided to take a break and explore other ventures.
The Season 15 cast of 'RHOA' featured Burruss, Moore, Shereé Whitfield, Drew Sidora, Sanya Richards-Ross, and Marlo Hampton. With upcoming cast shakeups and the potential return of Porsha Williams, fans can look forward to an intriguing Season 16 of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta.'
