Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear wants Mitch McConnell to do more than show up. Days after the 84-year-old senator returned from a three-month medical absence, Beshear is still pressing him to prove he can serve, or leave now.
McConnell cast his first vote since June on Monday, ending a 92-day disappearance that began with a fall at his Washington home. He later said doctors ruled out a stroke, heart attack, concussion or broken bones, though he developed pneumonia and spent weeks in rehabilitation. He arrived at the Capitol in a wheelchair, visibly thinner, and spoke only briefly without answering questions.
