Giovanni van Bronckhorst has admitted it might be next summer before any future update is given on Rangers pair Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent.
The attacking duo have both been criticised for their parts in a mixed campaign to the term so far for the Light Blues, which has seen them already eliminated from the Champions League group stages and suffering a 4-0 loss at Celtic's hands. Much debate has swirled over Morelos and Kent now they are in the final 12 months of their contracts.
Clubs could snap them under pre-contracts for £0 in January and the Rangers manager admits it might not be until the coming months that either of his attackers choose what to do, or uncertainty may linger until summer 2023. Asked for a progress update, van Bronckhorst said: "You have to speak about contract talks with Ross Wilson (sporting director). You want your players to sign contracts sooner than later but you need two sides to agree.

"We had the same situation with Connor (Goldson) where he did not sign a contract during the season but then did so in the summer.
"Of course, the earlier the better but at the moment I don't know the status. We just have to wait and see what will happen in the coming months or even in the summer.
"I don't think the talks are affecting them. Ryan is in and out of the game. He is improving his performances but I don't think that is due to his contract talks. 'Alfredo is different because he came from a long-term injury. They are both players who want to improve and to perform whenever they are playing, so I don't think that's an issue."
