There has been something of a Jaylen Brown media tour at the end of the 2022-23 NBA regular season. The Boston Celtics forward’s noncommittal talk of his future with the Celtics has spurred speculation the Georgia native might want out of Boston.
Such was the take of onetime Celtics center and current NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins, who recently shared his thoughts about Brown’s future with Boston on the “Road Trippin'” podcast. Asked if the Celtics star would stay with the team in free agency, Perkins replied “That is another problem that I’m having.”
“(Knowing) if something is going on in that locker room or in that organization.”

“Because he is giving me all the signs that he wants out of Boston,” said Perkins. ‘Whether it’s him addressing the fan base whether it’s him basically talking about let’s see how much the organization really values me because my name is in trade rumors every single year.”
“And not only do you lose Ime Udoka, you also lose Damon Stoudemire who was that real one that they could come to him … He’s not on that bench (any) more.”
