For Boston Celtics champion center-turned-broadcaster Kendrick Perkins, the ability the Celtics most need at their disposal come the postseason is availability. In an interview with Bally Sports’ Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, Perkins related that “for me, it’s all about health.”
“It’s going to come down to Robert Williams (III),” he continued. “I’m a little concerned because I thought going into the All-Star break that I was going to see a little bit more out of him for his playing time and availability. And in order for (the Celtics) to even think about getting through the Eastern Conference, they are going to need the best version of him.”
“Especially if they have to come across a Giannis (Antetokounmpo), a Brook Lopez, a Joel Embiid, they are going to need Robert Williams,” suggested the Texas native. “You can have all of the offense in the world, you can have the stretch bigs knocking down 3s.”

“But I’m always going to come back to (the fact that) there’s no team that ever won a championship that wasn’t a top-five team defensively or getting it done on the defensive side of things — it’s going to come down to the health of Robert Williams.”
