Kemar Roofe needs a dramatic change when it comes to his injury record and the Rangers striker has gone to one of the very best in the industry to get to the bottom of his issues.
The Jamaica International has had a wretched run with just half a dozen appearances for the Ibrox side this season. Michael Beale is a huge admirer but as he approaches the final year of the contract he signed after moving from Anderlecht in a £4.5 million deal, there has been speculation that the 30-year-old is one who could be moved on.
But Roofe shared a message on Instagram that suggests he’s doing everything he can to get back from his latest set-back, a calf problem that has ruled him out since he scored in a 3-0 win over Livingston back in February. The frontman is at the world-renowned Aspetar clinic which describes itself as a “leading specialised orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital, and the first of its kind in the Middle East, located in Qatar. Aspetar is staffed by some of the world’s leading sports medicine practitioners and researcher.”
With Alfredo Morelos heading for the Ibrox exit, Roofe could play a key role next season but he has to prove his fitness. Beale has never hidden his admiration for the player, saying shortly after his arrival: “The way I’ve set the team up - I have left a big hole for Kemar to come back. If Kemar can get fit and healthy, he’ll come into the team and slot right in.”
