Kemar Roofe 'commitment' questioned as Rangers striker slammed by Jamaica boss after call off

Rangers star Kemar Roofe' s commitment to Jamaica has been questioned by boss Paul Hall after he pulled out of the squad.

Roofe was called up for the World Cup qualifying triple header against El Salvador, Canada and Honduras later this month.

However, the Ibrox frontman wasn't in his final group alongside West Ham striker Michail Antonio, Brentford’s Ethan Pinnock, Bournemouth’s Jamal Low.

The Reggae Boyz have no hope of reaching Qatar 2022 as they battle to avoid bottom spot in their qualifying group.

However, Hall has made it clear he isn't satisfied with the reasons given by the Rangers striker and his teammates for the snub.

He said: "I feel some of the reasons the players that pulled out have been disappointing.

"I’m not here to talk about who has pulled out because there were plenty of reasons for me to talk about the ones who are and who want to be here.

"As I said before, this is about commitment. And we can only move forward with those who want to help us and who want to be here.

"Let me be clear, we need to be committed as individuals and as a group, if we are going to start achieving things, if we are going to start moving up the rankings, start winning Nations Leagues, start winning Gold Cups.

"We have to put Jamaica first and that is key. I will not renege on anybody who doesn’t put Jamaica first.

"We have managed to replace those guys with players who will jump at the opportunity and I hope they do that and make the ones who are not here have to fight to come back in because I want it to be a fight to stay in this unit.

"That is the only way we’ll get better."
