Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher has told soap bosses he is "coming back" in a post on Instagram.
The Andy Sugden actor starred in the long-running ITV soap from 1996 to 2016. His character was at the centre of a number of dramatic storylines, including setting fire to the barn, therefore killing his adoptive mum, Sarah.
Other explosive scenes saw Andy accidentally shoot his brother Robert, after finding out he had had an affair with his partner, Katie Addyman.

Since leaving the soap, Kelvin, 39, went on to star in and win Strictly Come Dancing in 2019. And last year, he and his wife, Liz, and their children Marnie, six, Milo, three, and Mateusz, seven months, starred in the BBC show Kelvin's Big Farming Adventure.
The show saw the family swap their home for a farm in the Peak District.
Many Emmerdale fans have been keen for Andy to return, and now Kelvin has teased he will be coming back. A post from the soap's official account on Friday showed a preview of what is to come next week.
One photo showed an angry Will Taylor holding Sam Dingle by the scruff of the neck, as soap bosses revealed "Next week: Will accuses Sam of stealing from him."
Commenting on the Instagram post, Kelvin said: "If he touches Sam like that again I’m coming back to sort it". His reply has been "liked" more than a thousand times, with Emmerdale fans pleading with him to return.
Katie said: "Please come back", while Tamzin said: "Is this a hint? Please say you're coming back". Donna said: "Please come back. We love your life on the farm but Emmerdale needs you".
