Kelvin Fletcher has insisted that he's not trying to 'copy' Jeremy Clarkson's farming show.
The former Emmerdale actor and his wife Liz Marsland are the stars of Kelvin's Big Farming Adventure.
The new BBC series follows the loved-up couple as they set up their 120-acre working farm on the edge of the Peak District - but the twist is they have zero farming experience between them.
Although the show is a completely different format to Jeremy Clarkson's Amazon Prime Diddly Squat Farm show, Kelvin has faced intense backlash as some unimpressed BBC viewers have claimed he has tried to 'copy' Jeremy.
Kelvin has since branded the criticism 'unfair' as he's defended his new show.
In a recent episode of Netmums podcast, Sweat, Snot & Tears, the 38-year-old addressed the drama.
"It’s a bit unfair I think," Kelvin told.
"There’s a whole host of that type of show, I can think of half a dozen straight the way, you know idyllic, country living, representing the industry and giving you an insight into what it’s like, something a little light-hearted.
"So to be compared exclusively to Clarkson I think is a little random. As people can see it’s a completely different show."
Kelvin, Liz and their two young children, Marnie and Milo, made the life-changing decision to turn their back on their life in Oldham for a fresh start in the Peak District and the cameras have followed them in doing so.
Whereas with Jeremy's show, the series followed the former Top Gear host as he tried to run Diddly Squat Farm in West Oxfordshire.
Addressing having his show compared to Clarkson's Farm, Kelvin insisted that his show was already three months into production when Clarkson's Farm first aired.
"We were already three months into production when Clarkson’s came out," the former soap star told.
"So, to suggest that we’ve, and we did get a lot of suggestions, like, 'Oh they’ve just ripped it off or they’ve copycatted it'.
The launch of the new series comes after Kelvin and wife Liz announced that they're expecting twins.
They shared news of the pregnancy on BBC Breakfast this morning.
