Kelvin Fletcher ‘in disbelief’ after finding out wife Liz is expecting twin boys

Kelvin Fletcher said he’s ‘in disbelief’ after finding out wife Liz is expecting twin boys.

Back in January, the former Emmerdale star announced he and his childhood sweetheart, who are already parents to daughter Marnie, aged five, and son Milo, three, would be adding two bundles of joy to their gorgeous brood.

Now, they've revealed their shock at finding out Liz is pregnant with twin boys, and Kelvin is over the moon.

“We’ve already got the best of both worlds with Marnie and Milo, so I didn’t mind either way, but finding out we’re having sons is amazing,” the former Strictly Come Dancing champion told Hello magazine.

“It was the best day of my life. It was a moment of complete disbelief. I’ve never felt joy like it.”

Kelvin and Liz wed in November 2015, and she confessed she was initially daunted by the prospect of having two newborns, but is now looking forward to completing their family with two more boys.

Liz, who is due to give birth in May, said: “I felt every single emotion under the sun. First, there’s double the worry.

“I thought about things like breastfeeding, how is that possible with two? How do you pick up two babies at the same time?” she said.

“I felt all of this in the space of 30 seconds. Kelvin was saying it’s a miracle, and I was thinking ‘How are we going to do this?’” Liz admitted.

“But now we can’t imagine it any other way. We feel so lucky.”

Kelvin will be very busy after Liz gives birth to the twins, as he’s due to start rehearsals for his next project - the National Theatre production of Richard Bean’s comedy Jack Absolute Flies Again alongside Caroline Quentin, which will open in July.

“It’s the biggest box to tick as an actor to perform at the National Theatre. I can’t wait to get on that stage and act in front of people again,” he said, as wife Liz said their busy family life, as well as their farm, will require some juggling in the coming months.

“It may bring some challenges, doing the play as well as farming and raising a family. It’s all going on,” she said.
