Kelsea Ballerini hosted the 2024 CMT Music Awards with enthusiasm, marking her fourth consecutive year as the host. The event took place at Austin's Moody Center on Sunday, April 7. Ballerini, 30, kicked off the show with a lively opening monologue, expressing her delight at being chosen to host once again.
During her monologue, Ballerini referenced her 2023 single 'Blindsided,' specifically the line 'Yeah, sure, OK,' which has become a fan favorite. The song is part of her EP titled Rolling Up the Welcome Mat, which delves into her divorce from country singer Morgan Evans. Evans responded musically with his own track, 'Over You,' reflecting on the end of their marriage.
Ballerini's inclusion of the 'Yeah, sure, OK' line was a planned surprise for her dedicated fans. She had teased the incorporation of the line in a TikTok video earlier, creating a special connection with her followers.
Following her divorce from Evans, Ballerini found love with actor Chase Stokes in January 2023. The couple made their red carpet debut at the CMT Awards in April of the same year and returned to the event together for the 2024 edition.
Stokes, 31, shared that he and Ballerini do not intentionally coordinate their outfits but rather aim to complement each other's style. At the recent CMT Awards, Ballerini stood out in a striking red ensemble while Stokes opted for an all-white suit. Ballerini also showcased multiple wardrobe changes throughout the ceremony, ranging from yellow gowns to Barbie-inspired cowgirl jumpsuits.
